Enid Public Schools strives to be known as one of Oklahoma’s most innovative school districts. When planning for the renovation of four elementary school gymnasiums over the 2021 summer break an inspection was done to assess the condition of seven other existing elementary school gym floors in the district. Five of the schools had been replaced with foam backed vinyl gym flooring, provided by two different manufacturers in 2016 and 2017. The remaining two schools had Mondo Advance vulcanized rubber flooring installed 2012. After the inspections Enid Public Schools decided to specify Mondo Advance for the 2021 elementary school gym renovations. According to the school district the deciding factors included durability, ease of maintenance and life cycle cost of the gym flooring.

Elementary school gymnasiums often serve as a multi-purpose space. Most of the gyms at the Enid elementary schools double as an auditorium so it was important that the new flooring would hold up to tables and chairs.

The installations included Mondo Everlay T underlayment to prevent future issues caused by excessive concrete moisture vapor emissions.
